<p><strong>Every year</strong> on February 3rd in Japan there is a festival known as Setsubun. February 3rd is known as the day before spring in Japan and the festival is based on a very old tradition, and a ritual known as mememaki is performed on this day. Literally mamemaki means bean throwing, though what goes with it the interesting part. The beans are thrown to cast out misfortune and disease carrying deamons, like I said it&#8217;s an old tradition, and when the beans are thrown the words, Oni Wa Soto Fuku Wa Uchi, are said. The basic translation for this is, demons out good fortune in.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>So why is this interesting?</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>People and thoughts</strong> have moved on a long way in the last few hundred years. Yet how many of us still have our own personal demons? The thought coming from mentioning setsubun is one about changing how you think and feel. You can throw beans and say the words if you like, what&#8217;s more important is what is actually happening on the inside though.</p>
<p><strong>In performing</strong> this tradition sets a process going in the mind. A process that unconsciously sets out to banish negative events. The thought processes we work with on a daily level have a massive impact on our lives, especially on an unconscious level. So when there are negative thoughts running through the things you do, you end up drawing negative things to you like a magnet.</p>
<p><strong>So when you</strong> set in motion a chain of thoughts that work on banishing those thoughts you begin to change your fortunes. You begin inviting in good fortune. You begin to bring in to existence the things that will enable you to live a fulfilling and happy life.</p>
<p><strong>When you support</strong> this activity on a regular basis you reinforce it and make it much stronger. Though how strong can you make it? How well can you reinforce it?</p>

Fill yourself with junk and that will govern your existence and life.</p>
<p><strong>However when you</strong> are careful about what you put in. When you think and act with a higher intention, you can achieve something quite amazing.</p>
<p><strong>Your body</strong> has a myriad of systems functioning in delicate balance. Nurturing those systems effectively with the nutrition they require will see you stepping up to higher levels of existence and effectiveness. Your meditations and their results gain new dimensions. They also achieve those results faster.</p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> are nourishing your mind and body in the right way the paths that you are forging through meditation and other activities come much more easily.</p>
<p><strong>Nutrition</strong>, or lack of it can lead to massive differences within the body and mind. When you lack nutrition, or have excessive levels of toxins and damaging chemicals within your body they take a toll on your abilities. Often causing your mind to become sluggish.</p>

<p><strong>Happiness</strong> as with all emotions comes from a state of mind. The more you learn <a href="http://www.mastermeditation.com/about-meditation" title="about meditation"  target="_blank">about meditation</a> and <a href="http://www.mastermeditation.com/what-is-meditation/" title="what is meditation"  target="_blank">what is meditation</a> the more you come to understand just how you can influence your own state of mind.</p>
<p><strong>That and how easily you can alter your own state of mind.</strong></p>
<p><strong>You</strong> work constantly through a set of different filters and programs in your mind. All on an unconscious level. Processes that very few people are ever aware of. Yet we all run through them in our minds.</p>
<p><strong>Every</strong> time something happens the fresh information updates into our minds. When it arrives in your mind you process it. Much like your TV receiving a signal, the signal comes in, is processed and then the picture changes in line with the signal. Your mind does a few more things on top of this though.</p>
<p><strong>Your mind</strong> decides what information is important, and then applies various factors to it. It contrasts it against similar things that have happened to you, as well as other past experiences. It also checks it against your values and beliefs. As well as shaping the information into a form that is easily comprehensible to you. This could mean that certain information is distorted, deleted or generalised. Then it is passed to you consciously.</p>
<p><strong>On an unconscious level you also decide how you feel about it.</strong></p>
<p><strong>That part is very important</strong>. You always make a decision about how you feel about something. The majority of the time that decision is unconscious. The recognition of this point and acceptance of it opens you up to new choices.</p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> understand that you have an element of control over your emotions, you can begin working to change how they influence you.</p>
<p><strong>You can</strong> interrupt the pattern of negative emotion, you can alter the way you feel about things.</p>
<p><strong>Every time you</strong> have a negative emotion associate with an event, you can pause. Pause and think. Evaluate. Is this the way you wish to be?</p>
<p><strong>If you wish</strong> to live differently then you can choose to overwrite that feeling. Granted for some this can be easier than others initially. What counts is actually committing to working on this level.</p>
<p><strong>When you choose to work in this way you commit to massively transforming your life.</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>You buy in to enjoying your life more fully.</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Every time you</strong> shift from feeling negative to feeling neutral, or even to feeling positive about something you shift you life to a greater level of fulfilment. As the old saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. It is totally true. Granted on first viewing of a situation that silver lining may be tricky to see. Though it is definitely there.</p>
<p><strong>A long time ago</strong> I went through what at the time was really upsetting. An accident which led me to having to withdraw from my chosen career. A career I had spent my entire life working towards. As such it was really upsetting. At the time I knew none of what I knew now in terms of meditation and the mind. It was only far later that I was able to see the silver lining to that situation and how going through it was actually a positive. Yeah for sure it was painful physically, though I can now look back on it and say I am glad that happened.</p>
<p><strong>The learning</strong> from that along with my learning from meditation has led me to react very differently in negative situations now. I now know that there is always a positive to come from everything that happens.</p>
<p><strong>When you take that knowledge and add it to meditation you gain a winning combination.</strong></p>
<p><strong>By taking</strong> thoughts of your happiest state into meditation you can build a strong connection to them. Basically the more you work with those states in your mind the more they become a part of your life. You begin to live them more and more on a daily basis. You manifest those feelings into being a regular part of your life.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>What makes you happiest? Just imagine now.</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> imagine yourself in that amazing state you buy into living that way. You buy into feeling greater joy everyday. Bring that feeling into your mind. Hold it. Enjoy it. Make it stronger. Feel it flowing through you. How amazing doe that feel?!</p>
<p><strong>This is</strong> a kind of meditation that you can do at any time and in any place. Just sitting on the train, in the car, at work, wherever. As you read this now, just recall wonderful states of happiness, and allow the happiness to fill you. Visualise yourself being happy and enjoying yourself, naturally you smile more the more you do this. It is easy.</p>
<p><strong>You then are able to carry this joy through as long as you wish to.</strong></p>
<p><strong>All it takes is</strong> the gentle reminder inside your own mind to get back in touch with that state and those feelings.</p>

<li><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>You have a high pressure job</strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>You feel squeezed by the pressure to do more</strong></span></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Then this article can massively help you.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Stress gets in</strong> from the pressure generated by feeling a requirement to perform at a higher level. This pressure can come from parents, lecturers, bosses or even from yourself. Yes, regardless of whether we are students, workers or whatever, we can create appalling levels of stress from being hard on ourselves.</p>
<p><strong>This pressure</strong> and the stress that results from it have a terrible affect on the mind. Many people say that they need stress to perform at their best. That is their own belief, and in reality comes from the fact that it is the best way they have found to operate. That said, there are other ways of working which likely most people have never tried, that can yield quantum leaps in performance.</p>
<p><strong>Imagine yourself being able to work in totally relaxed way, whilst also being able to achieve far greater results than ever before.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Something that</strong> would create a far more enjoyable living for you right. Being able to work highly effectively, and in a relaxed way. Working stress free. Never needing to generate or feel heavy pressure as you can just focus and do what you have to. Easily and effortlessly.</p>
<p><strong>So how do you do this?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Well</strong>, many people believe that stress can sharpen their mind. As such they look to create it in order to generate that edge. Effectively that edge comes from the adrenalin created by the stress. Over time this leads to fatigue though, something which dulls the mind considerably.</p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> have adrenalin pumping around your body it is constantly on edge. It never truly gets the chance to rest. This causes negative effects over time. Neural activity becomes less effective, and mental processes dull. The tiredness which ensues due to lack of rest and relaxation causes questioning of any information that does come through.</p>
<p><strong>As such you</strong> question your own knowledge and thought processes. Which leads to diminishing mental responses and performance. Knowledge that was once clear and absolute becomes clouded, even on things that you had excellent recall on. Fatigue sets up a conflict pattern within your mind that hazes things and blocks effective working patterns.</p>
<p><strong>So how can you best</strong> get the edge without any of the downsides associated with an adrenalin crash and fatigue? Very simply by using meditation on a regular basis. Through cultivating a mind using meditation you are able to sidestep the negative aspects of stress. The unpleasant emotions that go with it, as well as the negative impact it has on health. Whilst at the same time increasing your focus and ability to concentrate and output.</p>
<p><strong>Moreover you see clearer and can achieve memory recall in a highly effective manner.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Meditation enhances</strong> your mind in a number of ways. The <a href="http://www.mastermeditation.com/meditation-ebooks-and-resources/guided-meditation/relaxation-and-stress-relief/" title="relaxation"  target="_blank">relaxation</a> brings with it a deeper acceptance and surety of the information coming through. Because the information comes in a calm and clear fashion. The mind accepts this knowledge as it comes easily, efficiently and cleanly. So the absence of duress brings clarity.</p>
<p><strong>On top of this</strong> regular meditation enhances neural pathways and their effectiveness. With regular meditation your neural pathways strengthen as you get to know your own mind better. It&#8217;s like when you go to a new town or city. When you first arrive you have difficulty finding what you need. Over time you get to know the place better and you relax more. When this happens you can find your way around easily and effortlessly.</p>
<p><strong>The same is true for your mind.</strong></p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> buy into building a more effective mind, when you buy into how easily you can improve your own mind you move streets ahead.</p>
<p><strong>When you</strong> take time getting to know your own mind you are able to navigate it easily. You can recall things easily because the pathways are known and simple to navigate. You instinctively know where everything is and so you stop having to search. Effectively you say to yourself “I know where that is” and just go get it, the searching stops.</p>
<p><strong>So how can you</strong> set about creating this kind of enhanced brain patterning? Regular meditation is the way to go. Even if just for a few minutes each day. There are of course many different way that you can meditate, working through zazen or zen meditation is an excellent way to increase this rapport with your mind, with the side benefit that you clear away excess and unwanted thoughts. Something which further increases efficiency.</p>
<p><strong>Zazen requires</strong> mental discipline, as such when starting out can be a challenge for some people. So if you wish to do things in an easier way then working with guided meditation is a good route forward. In using guided meditation you are still working with your neural pathways and improving them, yet it can be more relaxed and you are free from any pressure. You just relax with the guidance and flow with the words.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.mastermeditation.com/meditation-ebooks-and-resources/guided-meditation/" title="Guided meditation"  target="_blank">Guided meditation</a> will also aid you with stress relief too.</strong></p>

<p><strong>This morning</strong> I went to Fushimi-Inari Taisha in Kyoto, a stunning place with beautiful energy. Hence the reason I keep going there. The energy coming in for 2012 is amazing. Standing at the top of the mountain I felt an indescribable burst of positivity coming through with the rising Sun.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>This year is truly going to be amazing for everyone.</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Meditation</strong> has been important to me for a long time. I was lucky as I took to it really easily, and that is why I share so much with you on this website. So that you too can enjoy that level of ease and bliss that I do so frequently. It is easy.</p>

The pristine feeling that comes with it has you feeling lifted.</p>
<p><strong>Next up</strong> is cleaning your place on an energetic level. Using sacred sage or white sage as it is also known is good for this. Working with a smudging stick, which is available from any good spiritual store, you use the smoke to cleanse the energy of a space. Having cleaned a place physically this then works to refine and purify the energies further. Leading you to have a place that feels even more amazing, and peaceful too. The chaos that had previously been there with the energies disappears as the energies realign and settle. Allowing you to bring in the energies you want.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>However there is more.</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>To truly build yourself up for</strong> success there are things you can do internally. Special secrets. Though only if you are really committed to having an amazing year should you use these secrets. Are you ready for them? Will you truly use them? Will you use them positively and to help yourself?</p>
<p><strong>Doing an</strong> internal <a href="http://www.mastermeditation.com/body-cleanse-and-nutrition/" title="body cleanse"  target="_blank">body cleanse</a> puts you steps further ahead. <p><strong>You must value yourself first before others will value you properly.</strong></p>

The relationships that close off are ones that held you back anyway. Closing them off opens up space for more wonderful things and people to come into your life.</p>

<p><strong>All you have to do</strong> is start making changes. Value your self. Think about who is good for you, and who you would be better off setting adrift from you.</p>
